The Narcotics Control Bureau and Gujarat Anti-Terrorism Squad along with the Indian Navy seized 3,300 kg of drugs near the Gujarat Port, making it the biggest narcotics haul in the Indian subcontinent. The international market values of these drugs are estimated to be over Rs. 2,000 crore. Based on the inputs from the surveillance aircraft, the Indian Navy deployed a mission ship which was at sea for the past two days to intercept the suspicious boat from entering Indian territorial waters. Upon a thorough search of the boat the authorities discovered the large amount of drugs, leading to the arrest of five crew members from Pakistan. The drugs and the vessels were seized. Further investigations are underway to find the origin and destination of the narcotics.
