An indigo passenger was caught on camera attacking the captain due to delay in flight on Sunday [14/1/24] at Delhi airport.
According to an official statement from IndiGo Airlines, “Due to the low visibility and dense fog conditions across North India, IndiGo flight operations were impacted on January 14, 2024.” and delay was noticed in the respected flight. Indeed weather conditions around the national capital have been very poor these days. The flight was heading towards goa.
Now, The viral video is trending all over the internet. Our aviation minister Jyotiradaitya Scindia on Monday [15/1/24] said that this kind of behavior is ‘unacceptable’ and will be dealt with strongly in line with existing legal provisions.
Mixed responses can be seen by the netizens. Some are saying that the crew and pilot have no fault and the man who attacked the pilot should be booked for assault as well as put on a NO FLY List. On the other hand some are saying that both are at fault as Indigo is not being able to communicate and inform passengers about the flight status properly. A Russian model and actor, Evgenia Belskaia, who was on the Delhi-Goa flight with her team that day posted a video online saying that the passengers were livid due to the 13-hour delay and blamed the captain for aggravating the situation but hitting the pilot was wrong.
Meanwhile, IndiGo Airline informed that they have filed a complaint against the passenger and the process of filing the case is underway. “We received a complaint and are taking appropriate legal action,” DCP, Indira Gandhi International Airport said.
